Who You Are:

The Grid Interconnection Manager leads the strategy, execution, and management of how Galaxy connects its data centers to the grid. Operating primarily in ERCOT, this role owns the full interconnection lifecycle for Galaxy’s data center projects—from early feasibility and site diligence through studies, agreements, and energization — and serves as Galaxy's technical and commercial interface with ERCOT, transmission service providers, consultants, and regulators. It also oversees the power assets that make each interconnection real and the regulatory strategy that protects Galaxy's position as the rules governing large loads continue to evolve.

Preferably you are a licensed engineer with at least seven years of experience in transmission planning or interconnection within ERCOT, and a deep command of large load interconnection, regulatory strategy, and cross-functional execution. You are equally comfortable directing transmission studies and modeling consultants, negotiating interconnection agreements, and defending Galaxy's positions in front of utilities and ERCOT.

What You’ll Do:

Grid Interconnection

  • Own the end-to-end interconnection process for Galaxy's large loads on the ERCOT grid — feasibility, screening, studies, agreements, and energization.
  • Manage transmission and interconnection studies and external engineering and modeling consultants, reviewing technical details of models and study results.
  • Serve as Galaxy's primary interface with ERCOT and transmission service providers (TSPs); manage RFIs, data requests, and study milestones.
  • Lead negotiation and execution of interconnection agreements and associated security.
  • Navigate ERCOT large-load pathways—the Batch process, the Regional Planning Group (RPG) process, and Large Load Interconnection (LLI)—and position Galaxy's projects for inclusion and priority.
  • Provide interconnection feasibility and risk input to site selection and development / M&A.

Asset Management

  • Oversee the power assets behind each interconnection — substations, switching stations, points of delivery, UPS, and behind-the-meter equipment.
  • Coordinate design, buildout, energization, and ongoing reliability with internal teams, utilities, and vendors.
  • Own protection, modeling, and reliability considerations for connected assets, applying transmission-grade engineering standards.
  • Manage power-related vendors and consultants across the full asset lifecycle.

Regulatory Affairs

  • Provide input to Galaxy's regulatory strategy for large load interconnection and defend it before ERCOT and the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT).
  • Monitor and influence Texas legislation, PUCT dockets, and ERCOT Planning Guide and Nodal Protocol revision requests (PGRRs / NOGRRs) affecting large loads.
  • Represent Galaxy in ERCOT stakeholder and working groups, building relationships with ERCOT leadership, utilities, and regulators.
  • Ensure interconnection and asset activities remain compliant with ERCOT, NERC, and PUCT requirements.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive electrical engineering, transmission planning, interconnection, or related experience.
  • Experience managing multiple interconnections across various geographic locations.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and associated financial operations.
  • Strong project management, communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience supporting large load or utility scale generation projects from initial submission through energization.
  • Experience participating in the ERCOT regulatory environment.

What We Offer (US):

  • Competitive base salary and discretionary bonus
  • Flexible Time Off (i.e. unlimited paid vacation days)
  • 3% 401(k) company contribution
  • Company-paid health and protective benefits for employees, partners, and other dependents
  • Generous paid Parental Leave
  • Competitive family planning benefits for US employees
  • Free coaching and counseling sessions through Headspace
  • Free daily snacks in-office
  • Smart, entrepreneurial, and fun colleagues
  • Employee Resource Groups
