Founded in 2011, Kraken is one of the world's longest-standing crypto platforms, trusted by over 10 million individuals and institutions across the globe. It offers spot trading, margin, futures, staking, and OTC services, with products built for both individual investors and institutional clients.
We're looking for a React Native engineer to join a cross-functional Consumer pod focused on building and scaling core Krak experiences. You'll build alongside Product, Frontend and Backend Engineers in your pod, delivering seamless, performant user experiences across our Krak app, holding the features you ship to a high bar for UX, technical quality, and reliability. It's an opportunity to build high-impact, consumer-facing functionality used daily by a global user base.
Design, develop, and maintain high-quality mobile applications using React Native and TypeScript
Own the end-to-end delivery of assigned Krak features, from technical design through release and post-launch iteration
Build screens and components that are maintainable, performant, and resilient, applying established architecture and design patterns
Write clean, well-tested code and take an active part in code review, applying the team’s engineering standards consistently
Contribute to technical design discussions within your pod, raising clear proposals and trade-offs for the work you own
Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, and the Rust backend engineers in your pod to deliver features with measurable customer value
Help improve code quality, shared components, and tooling across the Krak mobile codebase, keeping current with the React Native ecosystem
3+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on web or mobile applications
Solid working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and hands-on experience building with React Native
Experience integrating and consuming APIs, with attention to security and performance on mobile
Experience with frontend testing frameworks and modern front-end build pipelines and tooling
Strong understanding of UI/UX best practices, empathy for the customer, and a passion for building intuitive, performant consumer experiences
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Familiarity with native mobile app development (iOS/Android)
Experience developing micro interactions and animations in React Native
Experience with Next.js and WebSockets
Experience within a large technology organization or fast growing startup
Hands-on experience in consumer payments, crypto or fintech mobile applications
Working knowledge of Rust (or similar languages such as Go or C++), and familiarity with async architectures, APIs, and microservices
Experience building large-scale consumer or financial products
Contributions to open-source or the broader engineering community
